Podcast and Chill co-host Sol Phenduka has reacted after TV presenter and actor Nimrod Nkosi opened up about his wife and marriage. Nkosi’s candid response when asked about his marriage to Charlene Tjoe left Mzansi men in their feels.

The former The Queen actor sat down with veteran TV and radio presenter David Mashabela for a wide-ranging interview that touched on various facets of his life. During the interview that aired on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, Nimrod Nkosi also spoke about his marriage.

Nimrod Nkosi opens up about marriage struggles

In a clip shared by social media user @Thisthat_Acadmy on Sunday, 20 July 2025, David Mashabela asked him how his marriage to Charlene Tjoe is. After a 24-second pause, Nimrod answered:

“Hard.”

Nimrod Nkosi suggested that his marriage had hit the rocks and he was drained in the relationship.

“I need the wind behind that sail. My sails are down. It’s hard. Yeah, but no one can do it alone. I’m not gonna lie because God knows,” Nkosi said.

The I Am King actor shared that he wasn’t hopeful that things between him and his wife would eventually work out. Nimrod Nkosi thanked David Mashabela for asking him that question. He said:

“No. I thank God that you’re the man who asked. It's the first time anyone has asked me that. And I thank God that it's a man of your calibre. I would not have let anyone ask me that.”

Later in the interview, the live Lotto draw presenter said that his marriage was unhappy and unsatisfying.

Sol Phenduka moved after Nimrod Nkosi discusses marriage woes

On Monday, 21 July 2025, Sol Phenduka joined Mzansi in reacting to the video of Nimrod Nkosi being truthful about the state of his marriage. The Kaya 959 radio host suggested he was heartbroken. Sol Phenduka’s reaction read:

Speaking to Briefly News, relationship expert Paula Quinsee shared that when a public figure such as Sol Phenduka supports Nimrod Nkosi, it can give them emotional support and comfort.

Briefly News reported that Sol Phenduka confirmed that he welcomed a baby after keeping it a secret from his Podcast and Chill co-hosts.

While he had initially denied expecting a baby during a game of confessions, Sol Phenduka eventually admitted and shared that he had welcomed a new baby girl on Wednesday, 11 June 2025, at around 7:30 am.
