There is nothing like going back home to spend time with the people who matter the most. South African superstar Makhadzi cherished the moment she visited her family back at her home village in Limpopo.

During her visit, Makhadzi reminisced about her tough upbringing, having to switch between homes after her parents separated. The Jealous Down hitmaker spoke about fetching water from the village tap, to sharing laughs and dance moves with her cousins at her grandmother's home.

The dancer could also not resist her mother's home cooking. Singer Makhadzi posted a video of her and her siblings feasting over her mom's cooked meal.

She also remembered her childhood days, where they would celebrate initiates returning from initiation school.

"Believe me when I say I enjoyed my stay at my village. Taking a walk to the small road that I used to use to fetch water was the best. My parents separated when I was 5. I visited both my parents' homes. My grandma's place was the best. We ate, danced to Skompo and Gaza music like crazy. We were celebrating my uncle's son's boys' initiation school ceremony."

All of this shaped Makhadzi into the global superstar that she is right now.
