Mpumelelo Mseleku's girlfriend and mother of his child opened up about their relationship after he paid lobola for his second girlfriend.

Tirelo Kale, Mpumelelo Mseleku's first girlfriend, recently discussed the dynamics of their relationship.

The young polygamist shocked fans after he paid lobola for his new girlfriend, Amahle Gasela, while the mother of his son is still without a ring. However, Tirelo claims that it doesn't bother her.

Tirelo has been in a relationship with Mpumelelo for some time. The two have a son together and maintained a polygamous relationship when ex-girlfriend Vuyokazi Nciweni was still in the picture.

Now that Gasela has joined the family, Izingane Zesthembu fans wonder how Mseleku will navigate his relationships. However, he told TshisaLIVE that he will apply the lessons his father taught him:

“What I learnt from my father is to be truthful, humble and respectful and know how to apologise.

Mpumelelo said being on the show has given him a rare chance to help South Africans better understand the dynamics of polygamy and why he chooses to pursue it:

"I got the opportunity to showcase what I do and how to structure polygamy. It's not forced, it's something I was raised in. People are failing to understand that."

Why isn't Tirelo Kale married to Mpumelelo Mseleku?

Meanwhile, some social media users are still wondering why Mseleku has not paid lobola for his long-term girlfriend.

Briefly News revealed that Mseleku did, in fact, send a letter to Kale's family to kick off the lobola negotiations. However, his request was rejected.

"There was a letter sent to my family, but they refused. They said that because I'm not done with school and I'm not working, why get married. They asked, 'What are you leaving with?' That's why they declined the proposal."

Tirelo says she begged and pleaded with her family to marry Mseleku, but her cries landed on deaf ears:

"I was hurt when my family refused. I pleaded with them, I even rolled on the floor. The letter is still there."

Musa Mseleku accused of not understanding Zulu culture

In an earlier report, Briefly News shared online reactions to Mpumelelo Mselelu's lobola negotiations, where his father, Musa, was part of the delegation.

Social media users were taken aback when Musa and the delegation met in the street, and questioned whether the famous polygamist understood Zulu culture:
