House of Zwide fans noted how Shalate Sekhabi, who played the role of Shoki Zwide, went off script during her final scene. The talented actress, who recently exited the popular e.tv show, got trolled by her fans on Facebook recently.
A user, Tinashe Eugene Mushanguri, posed the question on Monday, 21 July 2025, after the episode aired, asking if other viewers noticed something off. According to Mushanguri, Shoki blinked during a scene where she was supposed to be playing dead.
"Who else noticed that Shoki was breathing and even peeping her eyes on that hospital bed? Yoh, faking death on screen is not easy at all! We love Shoki, but eish, next time close those eyes properly, sisi!
Shalate Sekhabi exited the fashion drama telenovela after she and her character and her husband, Nkosi Zwide (Wanda Zuma), got involved in a horrific car accident.

After four years on the drama series, Shalate took to social media to share how the character changed her life for the better.
"My heart is filled with so much gratitude. Farewell Shoki! Thank you so much to everyone who has embraced and loved Shoki over the years. It’s because of this character that I’ve become a household name and got my start in this industry. Shoki has changed my life beyond anything I could have ever imagined, and the love from all the viewers online and in person is the most amazing thing to come out of all of this," she expressed.
