Many South Africans are still digesting the death of one of the most talented actors, Oscar 'Madluphuthu' Mgudlwa, who also made immense contributions to the entertainment industry. Yizo Yizo star Innocent Masuku shared how hard it was for him to accept the former Black Door actor's death.

The 49-year-old comedian and actor passed away on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, and according to TshisaLIVE, Mgudlwa's memorial service was held on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, in Randburg, where many industry figures attended, including SK Khoza and Trevor Gumbi, who had worked with Mgudlwa in the past.

During the delivery of speeches, an emotional Innocent 'Bobo' Masuku shared how heartbroken he was and how difficult it was for him to accept Madluphuthu's death.

"It’s hard for me to accept his death, especially since I was close to him. He was more than a brother and friend; I knew I could always rely on him for help. Speaking up isn't always easy, especially in this industry, because you risk being ridiculed. I feel fortunate to have had him in my life. To me, he's not just a celebrity—he was a wonderful soul we’ve lost. I cherish many fond memories of Oscar," she said.

Masuku further mentioned how he met the 49-year-old comedian who died after suffering a short illness. Bobo revealed how talented Mgudlwa was and how amazingly executed his work.

He said:

"I met him when he was still starting his character. He was outstanding. I know that for years to come, people will remember his work because of how he executed it. We did everything together. We did so many shows and gigs together. He was loyal to the game."

The 66-year-old had reportedly been ill for some time, was wheelchair-bound, and had his leg amputated.
