Outspoken poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai has responded to a report that she apologised to DJ Euphonik after allegedly calling him a rapist. This comes after DJ Euphonik reportedly won a defamation lawsuit against Ntsiki Mazwai.
Reports emerged that DJ Euphonik applied for a sequestration of Ntsiki Mazwai after the sheriff discovered that her assets are worth R1500. In light of the sequestration, Sunday World reported that Ntsiki Mazwai sent an email to DJ Euphonik, allegedly begging for mercy and forgiveness. Ntsiki Mazwai recorded a video clarifying whether she’d apologised to DJ Euphonik.

“Not in my name…”
In the video, the Moya podcast host said the report by Sunday World is inaccurate. She also said her emails were not an apology and were taken out of context.
“Good morning, all. It's Monday, the 28th of July, and I'm seeing that the Sunday World published a story yesterday, and it's inaccurate. It's not factual. There is nothing I can do about people taking private emails and then making them seem like they are something they are not. I want to let South Africans know I have made no apology for anything. There is no court of law that has ordered me to apologise for anything,” she said.
Mazwai denied that she’d called DJ Euphonik a rapist and said she is in court for retweeting a post.
“I have never called anybody a rapist. The only court case I know of is me getting into trouble for reposting a tweet about abuse and about abuses. So, the narrative about the rapist is a narrative that has been created, and I can't respond to it because my court order says I can't comment on the case. So, I'm in a precarious position where narratives are being created, but I'm not allowed to respond because of a court order. But I wanted to say that I've never falsely accused anybody of rape,” she explained.
Ntsiki Mazwai said if she wants to apologise to DJ Euphonik or anyone, she’d do so on video and not through the media.
