There has been a claim surrounding Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie and his alleged son Calvin Le John regarding supposed R70 million in funding.
An X user claimed that Patriotic Alliance deputy president Kenny Kunene approved this funding; however, there are holes in this theory. The said user questioned the legitimacy of the claim, and also wants to dig deeper into the alleged son, Calvin Le John.

A parody account, @GeneraMkhwanaz, took to X (Twitter) and suggested that a rumour is circulating regarding the Patriotic Alliance leader and the deputy president. Kunene, who recently resigned from his duties as the MMC of Transport in the City of Johannesburg, was said to be the one who awarded this money to Calvin.

"It is alleged that Kenny Kunene, as MMC of Transport in the City of Johannesburg, paid R70 million to a company owned by Gayton McKenzie's son, Calvin Le John. We are going to take this with a pinch of salt because kuningi eSouth Africa."
This was seen as a conflict of interest due to the nature of the men's friendship.
"But let's try to find out the following: Kenny Kenne is a Deputy President of Patriotic Alliance, and Gayton McKenzie, who is the father of Calvin Le John; does that constitute a conflict of interest?" the catfish account asked.
The user also wanted to know how the authenticity of the claim can be investigated, citing a lack of trust in South African journalists.
"When did Calvin Le John change his surname? Is there anyone in Gayton McKenzie who uses the Le John on the last night? These questions are very important, and we urge and request serious journalists in this country, which we don't have anymore, though if they find to ask Gayton McKenzie these questions."

MacG accused of sabotaging Ntsiki Mazwai's Moya's podcast
In other news about Ntsiki Mazwai, Briefly News reported that MacG was accused of sabotaging Ntsiki Mazwai's podcast, Moya. This came after his explosive interview with disbarred Advocate Malesela Teffo.
An X user @AndileTheGreat pointed out that MacG aired his podcast much earlier to gain traction and increase his views.
Normally, MacG usually airs episodes at 3 pm. However, on Thursday, 17 July 2025, he aired the interview at 10 am. On the other hand, Ntsiki Mazwai advertised her interview with Teffo on 15 June 2025.
"PODCAST WARS: MacG did Ntsiki Mazwai dirty. Since when does MacG drop an episode at 10:00 AM instead of 3:00 PM? The insults will fly soon because of these Adv. Teffo interviews. This rat race among podcasters to be first is very funny," the user said.
