Netizens are getting tired of Simphiwe's drama
Many netizens seem to be over Dana's hairstyle drama, as they reacted to her recent new hair post and requested she move on and apologise to those she has mocked.
Here are some of the comments below:
@The_CooKer1 said:
"That's all the fire she can hold onto 😭🤣otherwise - no hype."
@KamogeloMa92354 commented:
"You assume everyone knows you, kante nah! They probably did not have you in mind at all when they introduced those hairstyles on Shaka iLembe. I certainly didn't think of you; it just never came to my mind at all when I first saw the motion picture. You remind me of those white settlers who claimed to have discovered gold in the Witwatersrand and laid claim to it, whereas our ancestors had long engaged in the trade of the mineral prior to their arrival."

"You are tarnishing your legacy. Get off your high horse. Nobody owes you anything. You also were inspired by the same history they were inspired by. Bold of you to assume they copied you when you yourself did not birth the style. Even Mama Miriam Makeba used to rock such elaborate hairstyles, susqhela Simphiwe!"
@Nemza007 responded:
"It's not too late to humble yourself and apologise to Nomzamo, sisi. A lovely Wednesday to you, too, by the way."
@moroaswi19316 replied:
"Apologise to Nomzamo and Shaka iLembe, cause people brought evidence that you did not create the hairstyle."
@Sithembile00 wrote:
"You revived this hair, and you kept it alive. Since your first album (Zandisile, I think), you’ve been consistent. Once their misplaced anger subsides, they will give you your flowers."

Sannah Mchunu mocks Simphiwe Dana
Since the whole hair drama started on social media regarding Simphiwe Dana feeling unappreciated and acknowledged for the Africentrice hairstyles, which many productions show off on TV, former Gomora actress Sannah Mchunu also mocked the songstress for coming at Nomzamo Mbatha on social media.
In her Instagram post, she shared on Monday, 28 July 2025, she shared two separate shady pictures, poking fun at the Ndiredi singer. She referred to her using the hit 2004 song, saying she was 'Ndirediiii.'
In another, Sannah Mchunu, who nailed the role of Zodwa on the Mzansi Magic drama series, Gomora, posted a photo of her donning a similar hairdo, joking that she should have also asked for Dana's permission.
