R&B lovers will be disappointed to know that Lerato Kganyago and her husband, Thami Ndlala, will no longer be bringing American singer Tank to South Africa. This comes after the veteran R&B crooner cancelled his performance due to a business disagreement.

In January 2025, Lerato Kganyago and her husband, Thamsanqa, bought an entire mall. In true Ndlala fashion, the couple intended to go big by bringing in American R&B singer-songwriter Tank for the grand opening. However, this was not to be as Tank cancelled at the eleventh hour.

Why did Tank cancel his South African concert?

According to a report by the Sowetan, the 49-year-old American singer, who was billed to perform on 2 and 3 August, cancelled over an undisclosed business disagreement. Popular South African songstress Zonke was also scheduled to perform at the grand opening of Ndlala Mall in Arcadia, Pretoria.

On Monday, 28 July 2025, Tank took to his official Instagram account to confirm the cancellation.

He apologised to South African fans who had been waiting for over ten years to see him perform and expressed optimism that the matter would be resolved swiftly.

“Some things have fallen apart business-wise that are going to prevent me from fulfilling my obligations to you. I firstly want to apologise to you, the fans and all the people who were making plans to pull up and enjoy this R&B music. Hopefully, things can be resolved, and preferable I can get up there,” Tank said.
