South African media personality Lerato Kganyago and her husband, Thami Ndlala, will no longer be hosting the grand opening of their mall this weekend. This comes after American RnB singer Tank pulled out of his performance, just days before the show.
The couple announced that they bought a mall in January 2025. The Ndlala Mall grand opening was supposed to take place on Saturday, 2 August 2025.
Now, the couple has announced that not only will the event be postponed, but they will also be announcing a new lineup.

New date for Ndlala Mall opening
In a statement, the couple announced that the opening of the state-of-the-art mall will be moved to 23 August 2025. However, the new lineup has not been announced just yet, but the couple assured fans that they will soon.
They also expanded on the reason Tank could not make it to the opening, but refrained from diving deeper into his failed business dealings.
“Tank is unable to make it to SA, as something has fallen apart business-wise wise which is going to keep him from fulfilling his obligation. The new date is set for the 23rd of August to allow necessary arrangements for the new act. The Artists will be announced by next week, and the plans to launch the Mall are going ahead as planned.”
Tank apologises to South Africans
The Before We Get Started singer was to perform in Mzansi for two days. He was part of a stellar lineup of singers, including SA's very own, Zonke.
“Something has fallen apart business-wise that is going to prevent me from fulfilling my obligations to you. I firstly want to apologise to you, the fans and all the people who were making plans to pull up and enjoy this R&B music. Hopefully, things can be resolved, and preferably, I can get up there,” Tank assured.
The price of the tickets was grouped in five package options available, from the Diamond to the humble Bronze. The lowest-priced ticket costs R2,500, whereas the Diamond package costs R15,000. This package offers extras such as front-row seating and a meet-and-greet with Tank.
The show will be held at the Ndala Arena and promises an evening filled with "great music, exciting shopping opportunities, and special attractions."
