Tyla opens up about the relationship she has with her parents
In another story, Tyla previously opened up about her career and relationship with her family. During an interview on Capital Xtra, the singer mentioned her parents, Sharleen and Sherwin Seethal, saying they aren't your average, super strict South African parents:
"My parents love a good time. My parents are not like old-type parents, they're lit. They love us throwing parties at the house and having friends over. They also love going out with us, and they'll be like, 'Okay, we won't bother, but we're gonna have our own section with our own bottles."
Tyla's parents are very supportive of her career since she decided to pursue music instead of furthering her studies or pursuing a career. She told People that it took a lot of convincing and begging for her parents to finally agree:
"So my parents were like, 'Be realistic. You need to work; this can be a side hobby. After a lot of convincing, they allowed me to do just that."
