South African media personality Nandi Madida has always had it in her to be on TV. Zakes Bantwini's wifey had many netizens gushing over her 15-year-old self when she made her debut in the showbiz industry.
On Wednesday, 6 August 2025, the Africa Now Apple Music radio host went down memory lane and shared an adorable video of herself back when she was 15 years old and starting her TV presenting career in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Madida mentioned in her Instagram post that she was sharing this video as encouragement to all young aspiring TV stars pursuing their careers in the entertainment industry, that following your dreams and putting in all the hard work is all one needs to achieve their goals.
"My brother @hastings_moeng sent this to me… and I guess this is what 'overnight success' really looks like. ✨I began my journey on a children’s TV show at just 15 years old a young girl from Durban with big dreams. Still in high school, but already certain that if I stayed the course, those dreams would one day become reality. At the time, I was often bullied for being on TV and for being a high achiever.

"But none of that deterred me. In fact, it prepared me for the real world. I remember thinking: “Unhappy people often try to make others unhappy.” That truth helped me move through life with so much more grace. 22 years later… those goals have come to life. I share this to remind the next generation: Nothing is handed to you. Every dream worth chasing requires: Discipline, perseverance and an unwavering belief in the vision placed in your heart. There are no shortcuts. Only the courage to keep going, even when the road is long. So if there’s something you truly want…Work for it. You are capable. And it is possible," she wrote.
