‘Uzalo’ Actor Glen Gabela’s Alleged Daughter Has Called Him Out: “He’s Never Had Money”

Actor Glen Gabela had social media buzzing over the weekend when South Africans shared screenshots of his alleged daughter's comments regarding his late wife and his children.

The former Uzalo actor made headlines this week when a South African woman assisted him in asking for financial assistance.

The viral video of the veteran actor also got the attention of the Sports, Arts, and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie, who revealed that he's looking into assisting the actor.

TikToker Bhekimbanjwa recently shared a video of Gabela's interview with Palesa, where he opened up about his divorce.

The video is captioned: "Veteran actor Glen Gabela, who is known for roles in productions such as Uzalo and Shaka Zulu, opens up about the circumstances that led to his divorce."

In the interview, the actor reveals that his wife left him because he couldn't afford a house in the suburbs.

Social media user @am_blujay shared screenshots of Gabela's daughter's comments on his X account on Saturday, 16 August 2025.

Briefly News contacted Mr Gabela on Saturday, 16 August, regarding Ms Nsele's comments about him.

Gabela's alleged daughter reacts to his interview

Miss_Nsele replied to Gabela's interview and said:

"I hate how Glen is spreading lies, ngoMama! (about my mom). Funny, you are now doing these interviews just after she passed! The lies!"

Miss_Nsele wrote:

"Glen has always been absent. He knows where we are. No one deprived him of a relationship nathi (with us). My mother built a house which she left for us. Even after her passing, he still decided to stay away."

soso84 reacted to Nsele's comment and said:

"Yhoo uxolo mntase, (sorry ,my dear). I didn't know it was this deep🙏."

Miss_Nsele replied:

"It is deep! I don’t think he realises how much he is hurting us. The lies, people calling our mom names, worse, she can’t even speak for herself."

South Africans respond to the alleged actor's daughter's comments

Muthuwavhathu replied to Nsele's comments and said:

"No father can just abandon his wife and children, unless they give him a hard time."

Miss_Nsele replied:

"There are two sides to a storyline."

Miss_Nsele also stated:

"The villain in his story isn’t around, and we gave him multiple opportunities; our doors are still open to him. He must just stop lying."

Miss_Nsele commented:

"We have proof of everything, and iqiniso (the truth) is the fact that our doors are still open for him to come build a relationship, nathi, (with us). He knows where we are! He must leave Uma (our mom) to rest and step up."

Miss_Nsele wrote:

"What isn’t fine is him pushing a narrative of being unwanted due to money; he has never had money, and we don’t want his money. We just want him to step up and be there."

Babalwa Dlabati reacted to Nsele's comments and said:

"I believe you. They spin stories to clear their conscious. No one can be kept from the kids with the legal system. Your mom did a great job."

Actor Glen Gabela asks for donations

In more entertainment news, Briefly News previously reported that veteran actor Glen Gabela, known as Pastor Mdletshe from SABC1's Uzalo, publicly urged for financial help.

The former Shaka actor, who recently had a heart attack, reveals that he wanted a decent life like everyone else.

The thespian previously made headlines when he opened up about being kicked out of his apartment and losing his car.
