Bathong, Amapiano stars and missing their shows is becoming a habit now in the entertainment industry, much to many people's frustration not to forget the event promoters who end up looking untrustworthy in public, and recently Kelvin Momo was caught up in the same mess as he became a no-show for a show he was booked for this past weekend.

Social media has been abuzz as many fans dragged the Awkhuzeki hitmaker for missing his booked gig in North West on Saturday, 16 August 2025. To make things right, on Sunday, 17 August 2025, Kelvin Momo issued a media statement, apologising for not showing up at the Sun City Resort Outside Event that he was booked for.

Momo also explained his action on the statement as to why he didn't pitch for the gig.

"I would like to sincerely apologise to Sun City Resort, the event organisers, and most importantly, all the fans and guests for my absence and the disappointment caused by my non-attendance at the Outside Event scheduled for 16 August 2025," stated in the statement.

Netizens are unimpressed by Kelvin Momo's actions

Although he released an apology, many netizens weren't buying it or rather, weren't impressed with his lack of professionalism, as he wasn't the only star who was a no-show, as Young Stunna also sparked outrage after missing his Zimbabwe show earlier in August 2025.

Here's what netizens had to say about Kelvin Momo's media statement below:

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela said:

"Who is Kelvin Momo's manager? Where was he or she? How is it that he or she did not communicate with the client before the client had to release that damning statement? A manager is supposed to resolve problems. He/She can't carry Kelvin to Sun City by force, but "miscommunication" and "unforeseen circumstances" are matters that the manager should have addressed days before the event."

@LifeOfNyiko commented:

"I don't know who is managing him, but last time he released a statement with Thuthu's T-Squared, and now I see it's only his emblem on the statement."

@amsimplymandla responded:

"As someone who deals with events & books artists, I have noticed that most artists don't have managers but booking agents who just want to drink the rider."

@uKilla_K replied:

"Nothing wrong with his team, it's him who is very unprofessional. He changed management this year. But these issues of his not pitching up to gigs still persist. Clearly, he is the problem."
