Outspoken poet Ntsiki Mazwai has become the latest South African entertainer to appeal for donations. This comes after DJ Euphonik successfully sued Mazwai over social media comments.

The outspoken poet has been in a legal battle with DJ Euphonik. Having previously addressed reports that she had apologised to Euphonik to get him to drop the case, Mazwai took to her X account and asked her fans for donations.

On Tuesday, 19 August 2025, Ntsiki Mazwai shared a video on her X account. In the caption, Ntsiki Mazwai announced that her birthday is approaching. She requested her birthday gifts in advance and expressed gratitude to her supporters. The video was captioned:

In the video, Ntsiki Mazwai, who was reportedly ordered to pay DJ Euphonik R200 000 in court costs, asked her fans to donate to her legal bills.

“You saw my business being splattered in the streets. I'm going to put my e-mail address on here. Anybody who wants to donate to the legal bills, I'm going to put my e-mail address there,” she said.

Ntsiki Mazwai promised that all donations would be sent to DJ Euphonik’s lawyers and offered to share their banking details with anyone who preferred to pay them directly. The poet requested her fans to send her proof of payment once the money was deposited.

“I promise to pass over that money to those lawyers. Otherwise, you can email me, I can give you their banking details, and then you send me the proof of payment, and we keep it moving, guys. It doesn't have to be the end of the world. We're gonna pay bit by bit by bit by bit and continue living our life, continue building the MOYA podcast,” she explained.

In a follow-up post, Ntsiki Mazwai celebrated receiving her first donation of R1,000. The post was captioned:

“Thank you so much. We got our first R1000 today, about to deposit for Schindlers attorneys, so my private emails don’t end up in the tabloids with fake apologies. 🙏🏿🙏🏿thank you guys.”

Meanwhile, Briefly News reported that Ntsiki Mazwai responded to netizens who called her broke.
