Nigerian singer Ayra Starr is trending on South African Twitter (X) after she was accused of copying Tyla.

The songbirds' supporters have butted heads on several occasions, with constant comparisons about their music and fashion raising tension on social media.

On 20 August 2025, Twitter (X) user hypetribeng shared a clip from Ayra's show at Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres concert in England, where she's scheduled to perform from 18 and 23 August.

The Rush hitmaker shared the stage with her backup dancers and gave fans a lively show, complete with great music and vibrant dance moves. However, South African social media users said Ayra's moves were all too familiar.

In the comments section, netizens accused the Nigerian star of copying Tyla's famous choreography for her Grammy Award-winning song Water.

While the ladies appear to be on good terms with each other, even going out together once, the tone was different online.
