During the interview, Onitias recounted an incident where one of the producers asked if he was comfortable with the lyrics to his daughter’s viral hit song Jobe which has sexual innuendos.
“Another guy came to me and asked me if I am comfortable with the lyrics of the song, as the song is Jobe unginika kamnandi (you give me pleasure)?” he said.
Onitias Matona brushed aside the criticism, suggesting that as an artist, Kamo Mphela has the creative licence to sing about anything she feels like.
“What does that mean? Why should I not be comfortable with it? It is a song where she is an artist, she’s allowed to express herself,” Matona added.
