Nandi Nyembe reaches out for help during difficult times

Earlier this year, Nandi Nyembe reached out to the people of South Africa after experiencing financial difficulties. She explained that her life savings of over R80K were spent on her son’s medical treatment.

Nyembe’s challenges took a toll on her health and later became wheelchair bound. The late actress insisted that she did not want any handouts or pity, but sought work instead.

In April, fellow South African actress, Sannah Mchunu, took Nyembe to see a counsellor. She could walk and was seen in happy spirits in a viral TikTok video posted by Mchunu with the caption:

“Counselling went well for umamNandi.”

When Mama was alive, we all failed to celebrate her, give her flowers while she could smell them, and simply make sure that she lived like the Queen she is. Now she's no more, the tributes are going to come through, and best believe she's going to get a beautiful send-off, which begs the question, why must we wait until death comes for us to celebrate our own fully?
