Ntando Duma opened up about never wanting to date a single father. The Shaka iLembe actress spoke on The L-Tido Podcast on 20 August 2025, saying she wouldn't give a single dad the time of day:
"I've never dated a man with a child, and I had a child. It's a preference thing, it's not about being selfish. I don't prefer it, and that's that, so I won't go for those people. There are too many people in the world, so I didn't want someone with a child, not because I hated their children or wouldn't know what to do with them."

This comes after Duma welcomed her second child, and her first with husband Una Rams.
She previously dated DJ/ producer Junior De Rocka, with whom she had her first child, Sbahle.
Once a single parent herself, Duma said she had her reasons not to settle down or even date another single parent:
"It was just a preference thing, and I have a right to have preferences on who I want to date. The same way women say they want a man with a car, same for me; I would have never dated a man with a child, for my own reasons."
As someone who lives a relatively private life, having gone through an private wedding and pregnancy, social media users were stunned by the actress's explosive statements, many of whom went online to criticise her.
