Renowned broadcaster Minnie Dlamini has received a major boost after the Lebo M Foundation threw its weight behind her and other victims of Gender-based Violence (GBV).

Minnie Dlamini has dominated headlines since MacG made disparaging comments about her during a Podcast and Chill episode following her breakup with cosmetic surgeon Dr Brian Monaisa. The former The Wild actress was recently under fire after Podcast and Chill co-host Sol Phenduka confirmed his suspension at Kaya FM was linked to the lawsuit filed by Minnie Dlamini. Now, Minnie has received a major boost after the Lebo M Foundation publicly backed her.

In a statement published by TshisaLive, Lebo M urged South Africans and the country’s justice and legal system to take decisive and collective action against GBV. He said GBV cases can no longer be swept under the rug or dealt with silently.

“Too many of our mothers, sisters and daughters live in fear every day. We can no longer allow GBV to remain a private issue hidden behind closed doors. The courts must hear the voices of women, and as a nation, we must refuse to be silent,” part of the statement reads.

In the same statement, Lebo M said the fight against GBV isn't Minnie Dlamini's responsibility alone.

“This is not just Minnie’s fight, it is SA’s fight,” the statement reads.

Meanwhile, the Lebo M Foundation has joined The Walk Against GBVF. The event will take place on Saturday, 30 August 2025. Participants are expected to start at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital outside the open area at 8 AM.

Who else has backed Minnie Dlamini?

Lebo M isn't the only high-profile South African who has publicly backed Minnie Dlamini.

The Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Mmapaseka Steve Letsike, publicly backed Dlamini. The Deputy Minister's efforts to ensure MacG faced the consequences of his actions, unfortunately, amounted to nothing.

Women For Change also supported Minnie after MacG made the comments about her.

“We are deeply disturbed by the misogynistic and degrading remarks made by MacG on his podcast regarding Minnie Dlamini," the organisation said at the time.
