The death of the veteran South African actress Mam'Nandi Nyembe has saddened many netizens and creatives of the entertainment industry as they continue to mourn her passing.

According to TshisaLIVE, the family of the former Zone 14 and Yesterday star has asked for privacy during this difficult time as they prepare for her funeral and memorial service.

"We kindly request space as we finalise funeral arrangements and memorial service details," the family said.

The star's family also expressed their gratitude to everyone who had been sending their condolences, messages and grievances, and all the support they received. The news of Nyembe's passing was shared on social media.

Mam'Nandi Nyembe's cause of death revealed

On Monday, 25 August 2025, Briefly News reported that the Nyembe family had revealed the cause of death of the veteran actress on social media after she passed away in a hospital on Saturday, 23 August 2025, at the age of 75.

The grandson of the thespian, Jabulani Nyembe, shared that his famous grandmother had been battling a long-term illness before her death.

"We tried everything to get her back to full health, but sadly, she succumbed. It's been a tough time for us, and there were many tough things to deal with. We've all come together. We are currently working through how we can firstly preserve her legacy, and secondly, continue holding each other hand-in-hand. It is also about ensuring that we live out her values," Jabulani said.

Jabulani further said:
