Many netizens on social media have been wondering where actress Kagiso Rakosa has been since she exited the popular TV soapie, Generations. Rakosa was popularly known for her role as Sharon on the show

According to SowetanLIVE, the actress, who debuted in 2004, shared during an interview that being an actress was never her first choice. She was studying for an accounting degree when a friend introduced her to a modelling agency, which led to her role as Sharon in Generations.

"I was a BCom accounting student when a friend encouraged me to join a modeling agency. That decision changed my life. Within three days, I landed a role as a background actor on Generations. From there, I was given a script and, after competing with ten other actresses, I officially secured the part of Sharon," she said.

The star who secured a major role on Magaeng in 2023 also mentioned that after leaving the soapie, she needed to take some time off after she got the Sharon role unexpectedly:

"The demanding schedule of playing Sharon on 'Generations' left me with no time to rest, and I began to experience social anxiety. Realising the intense pace was affecting my mental health, I made the difficult but necessary decision to take a hiatus from acting.
"That break was a turning point. It allowed me to step back and re-evaluate my path. It was during this period of rest and self-discovery that I found my true calling. I discovered a new talent and passion for radio presenting, which ultimately became the next chapter of my career."

During the interview with the publication, Rakosa further mentioned how she came about to venture into the radio industry, which was not in her plans before and after her role on Generations.

"It's crazy how people don't believe I'm a shy person. You know when people tell you to do things because you're good at it, but you don't know, so that's how radio presenting came about. I was shadowing Rashid Kay at 1Africa Radio TV at the time. He saw my potential, and I joined the team as MD," she shared.
