Brody Grant began taking acting seriously in high school
During a June 2024 interview with Women's Wear Daily (WWD), Brody described his birth city in Michigan as "an old rundown place". He revealed that he found his love for the arts after his family relocated to Georgia to be with his mom's side of the family when he was 9.
The high school theatre community in Georgia is vibrant. So, when I reached this level, I hit the ground running and threw myself all in. All I can say is that there is something in Georgia's water that was not in Rapid City's when it comes to performing arts.

Bagging a role on The Outsiders was "a dream come true" for Brody Grant
In 2019, the casting director for Dear Evan Hansen noticed Brody's talent when he auditioned for a part he did not get, but eventually called him for The Outsiders. Speaking to WWD, Grant revealed:
It was surreal when I was offered a Broadway role thanks to a failed audition.
In April 2024, Brody told Playbill that he was not initially cast as the young protagonist Ponyboy Curtis, stating:

It was a full circle moment for his family when he bagged a role on the musical
While speaking on Good Morning America, Grant revealed that his mom gave him a copy of S. E. Hinton's 1967 Novel The Outsiders when he was 14.
The book was special to me because of my mom. She loved it and had all the characters on her locker in high school. We have bonded over it for years.

Ponyboy Curtis is a member of the working-class Greasers
Adapted from a film by Francis Ford Coppola, The Outsiders narrates the story of two rival gangs, the Greasers and the upper-class Socs, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The former fights for a place in a world that has all but abandoned them. In April 2024, Grant told Broadway.com about his character:
Although Ponyboy is tough due to his background, he is just an artist on the inside.
The musical opened on Broadway on 11 April 2024. It features Alex Joseph Grayson as Dallas Winston, Sky Lakota-Lynch as Johnny Cade, Jason Schmidt as Sodapop Curtis, Brent Comer as Darrel Curtis, Emma Pittman as Cherry Valance and Kevin William Paul as Bob.
Directed by Danya Taymor, the show features an adapted script by Adam Rapp. It credits Angelina Jolie as a producer. The Outsiders won Best Musical at the 2024 Tony Awards.
