Mkhwanazi has won praise from the public after he made recent bold revelations about alleged deep-rooted crime and corruption within the police force and its connections to powerful politicians.
One of those whom General Mkhwanazi implicated was Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, who denied the allegations levelled against him by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Police Commissioner. Following South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's speech on Sunday, 13 July 2025, Mchunu was placed on immediate "leave of absence" after allegations of links to organised crime groups were made against him.

"Me, my spirit animal is Mkhwanazi because he has no problem with anyone, but if you want problems, he says no problem," she said with a smile in her clip
She further praised Mkhwanazi for his humility, a quality she clearly values.
"He is very humble, and if you want to take it there with him, he will take it all the way with you," she added.
