In a bizarre yet hilarious turn of events, three South African men were spotted braaing inside a taxi, sparking laughter and disbelief across social media.

Taxi drivers and their gaatjies are constantly on the road, so it's no surprise that they transform the vehicle into something convenient. TikTok user @vuledzani218 uploaded a video on their account on 26 July showing the men seated inside, enjoying alcoholic beverages behind a braai stand.

The pieces of chicken and chops were sizzling on the braai grid, with one man seeing to the poultry. The sausage was yet to be done. For some reason, there was also a screwdriver being used.

The South African taxi industry

South African taxi drivers play a significant role in the country's transportation system, seeing to it that residents get to their destinations. Safely? Well, that is up for debate, as taxi drivers are synonymous with not adhering to the rules of the road and making their own.

While it may be a convenient mode of transport, the industry is also linked to violence and on-going taxi wars over turfs, putting drivers' and commuters' safety at risk.

A few local members of the online community gathered in the TikTok user's comment section with jumbled responses to what they had seen on their For You Pages.
