Mossel Bay's rich history and attractions

According to Wikipedia, Mossel Bay is a harbour town of about 170,000 people located 400 kilometres east of Cape Town. The town has incredible historical significance as the place where Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias first landed in 1488, making it where the first Europeans set foot in South Africa.

The area is famous for its mild climate, boasting over 320 days of sunshine per year. Mossel Bay holds a special place in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the second mildest all-year-round climate in the world, second only to a small town in Hawaii. The town also features the only north-facing beach in Southern Africa, called Santos Beach.
