Dangers of bleaching hair

Bleach is notoriously known for being one of the biggest things that damage hair. Here are five effects of bleaching hair by Zala Hair:

Bleaching hurts the scalp

Bleaching hair only takes a couple of hours. Depending on one’s pain tolerance and skin, bleach could hurt the scalp. The substance is a really strong chemical, so it’s not uncommon for it to give burning or tingling sensations if you make contact with it. The bleach is to be removed immediately if it gets really painful or itchy, as one might be having an allergic reaction or a chemical burn, neither of which is good.

Your hair will get really dry

The biggest concern for people is that bleached hair tends to get really dry due to the process of oxidation.  Make sure that your hair is done after an extra-long period of rest and relaxation before bleaching.

You might get discoloured hair

Discoloured hair is a very common side effect of bleached hair. The hair could look quite ugly, and it may even give the impression that you don’t care about your hair or your appearance.

Your hair will be more prone to damage

Frizzy hair and split-end riddled hair are also common. Sadly, bleaching can make things so much worse. Bleached hair can be really brittle and prone to damage if done poorly. It takes very little to completely ruin badly damaged bleached hair.

Bleached hair is high maintenance

Bleached hair is so weak and prone to damage, and it also requires a lot of aftercare. Maintaining a regular haircare routine, using protective hair products every day, and remembering not to be rough with it are essential.

“But why wipe it with a tissue? Wouldn’t you wash the relaxer off?

@Tshepi commented:

“Guys, how many times do we say that relaxer doesn’t go with bleach?!”

@Talya 🇿🇦 highlighted:

“Never bleach relaxed hair!”

@Sisoe💕 said:

“Why would you relax bleached hair?!”

@Amanda said:

“Girl, we experimented on this during lockdown in 2020, and we agreed never to relax bleached hair. What are you doing?”

@SeonghwasSnatchedwaist🫦 was amazed:

“Not you wiping away your hair.”
