KFC's Kentucky Town Brings American Viral Sensation To South Africa for 1st Taste of 7 New Flavours

American TikToker Tyshon Lawrence was flying high after getting his hands on KFC's new limited edition menu. He showed that Kentucky Town is the place to be after amassing 15 million views for raving about KFC's latest flavour adventure.

The clip of Tyshon Lawrence’s first look at KFC's new treats was a hit with Mzansi locals, who encouraged him to visit for the food. KFC Kentucky Town's unofficial "mayor", DJ and designer Mateki2Shoes, had Tyshon on a plane to join him on a tour of Kentucky Town.

KFC South Africa introduced seven limited menu items, which are fresh takes on classics, including burgers, wings and chips. Kentucky Town reimagined chicken burgers as The Doritos Cheezy Nacho Burger, the Jalapeno Blaze Double Down and the Six Gun Grill Zinger Braai Burger with a blackened bun, celebrating a classic Mzansi spice and braai culture. Classic KFC wings were injected with a sweet and spicy combo in the form of Hot Honey Dunked Wings on the limited edition menu. Kentucky Town also added a twist to beloved sides with Cheezy Loaded Fries, and refreshing Krushers make an appearance as Chilli Choc Krusher and Cherry Boba Bliss.

Kentucky Town blows away Tyshon Lawrence

Tyshon's first taste of South African KFC was one of the heroes of the show at Kentucky Town, the Six Gun Grill Zinger Braai Burger, which he said "was everything". The Jalapeno Blaze Double Down, a burger with chicken cutlets as the bun, also got a raving review from Tyshon, saying he "never had anything like it before". The Doritos Cheezy Nacho Burger was also a hit with him, because it "had just the right amount of cheese". He exclaimed:

"I wouldn't know how to control myself if this was in America."

He took a break from the food with the Cherry Boba Bliss. He loved the boba, even though it was a combo he didn't know he needed. After tasting the Hot Honey Dunked Wings, Tyshon wanted the recipe as he licked the wings clean. After tasting the nacho-loaded fries, Tyshon said he'd try to make the loaded fries at home, but he doubted he'd nail it like KFC. His last taste test was the Chilli Choc Krusher, saying it was the creamiest, best way to end his Kentucky Town trip. He raved about the drink at the end of his KFC vlog:

“Whatever the combo ya’ll did to make this, baby ya'll did your thing. Look at me, I wanted five more."

South Africans stan KFC's limited edition menu
