South Africans were floored when Ithuba announced that a lucky South African won more than R120 million. The woman revealed herself as the winner, and she got candid about how difficult life was before winning.
A woman from Gauteng used the ABSA banking app and placed a R37.50 bet with her manually selected Lotto numbers. The lady's fortune made headlines as the National Lottery searched for the winner, and at that time, she was ignoring unfamiliar phone numbers, thinking they were telemarketers. The woman said she finally picked up when the phone rang on 8 August 2025, and the bank told her she had to report to the nearest Ithuba office to claim her winnings. She only found out that she won the jackpot at the National Lottery offices, and she shared, "I am still in shock."
