The Springboks lost 38-22 during the Rugby Championship on Saturday, 16 August, 2025, after taking the lead before halftime.

"The first half was good-quality rugby, but the second half was disappointing. Please, make it make sense. Is it a lack of focus? A lack of management style? Is it just players being too cocky? Maybe it's just focus. Maybe we were too arrogant from the get-go."

@pounamunui8888 added their opinion of the national rugby team, stating:

"No, the truth is surfacing. Your World Champion title is fake. Why? Because in the last World Cup final, South Africa won with the assistance of the referee Wayne Barnes (who is NOT missed) and the video referee. Now, we see the truth. New Zealand is looking forward to welcoming you to the land of the real champions."

"Shame, his whole identity was on the Boks winning."

@tommuller57 jokingly wrote under the post:

"Well, NASA reported two things they could see from the space station. Number 1: The Great Wall of China. Number 2: A big gap in the Springbok backline."

@jrizzau shared their thoughts in the comment section, writing:

"The team is getting old, lads. It's time for new blood."
