A heartwarming friendship story has gone viral after a Lesotho architect shared how his friend's dream home is finally coming to life years after being designed during the COVID-19 lockdown.

"I still remember it like it was yesterday—lockdown days, when the world stood still, and I sat down to design this house for one of my closest friends," Mohlomi wrote in his caption. "At the time, we both had our doubts. It felt like a shot in the dark, maybe even a little too ambitious for the moment. But look at it now… a living, breathing reminder that faith, vision, and hard work truly pay off."

The mansion is almost finished, with only interior designing, decorating, painting, cleanup, tiling, and ceiling work left to complete. The modern structure features a contemporary design that makes it stand out as a luxurious family home.

The inspiring story shows how dreams can become reality even when they start during difficult times like the Covid pandemic.

Benefits of building vs buying

According to experts at Capitol Homes, building a custom home offers many advantages over buying existing properties. You get to choose your exact neighbourhood, avoid competition stress, and create the perfect size and layout for your family's needs. Custom builds also let you completely personalise your home's style before moving in.

Building new means avoiding inherited problems from previous owners, enjoying modern construction quality, and often paying less for an equal or better home. New builds also achieve greater resale value down the road, giving you more purchasing power for future moves.
