Both clips went viral, gaining massive views, likes, and many comments from social media users who were shocked by the extent of the theft. "My former nanny would never do this, and she’s looking for work. If you need someone honest, please hire her. She even gives back the money found in my pockets. She keeps our bedroom key when we leave. We just can’t afford a helper anymore for now 😭 She even asked for R3K pay from us 😭 We're in Pretoria."

In South Africa, dismissing a domestic worker must follow fair labour procedures as outlined in the Labour Relations Act. You must have a valid reason, such as misconduct, incapacity, or retrenchment.
Domestic Support suggests issuing a written notice with details of the allegation and giving notice before a disciplinary hearing. During the hearing, the worker must be allowed to state their side. If dismissal is decided, provide the outcome in writing. You must also pay any outstanding wages, leave, and UIF contributions, and issue a UI-19 form and certificate of service.
