The amusing clip, shared on TikTok by @aviwe_qashindawo, captured the attention of many social media users.

The clip featured a young woman and her friends at Woolworths checking out the new Lindt Dubai Style chocolate. She picked up a small bar retailing for an astonishing R89 and expressed her shock at the amount as her friends laughed in the background.

The chocolate's price tags shock

Her companions tried to convince her to buy it, but she remained sceptical, humorously asking what would happen if she did not like it and therefore waste R90. Next to the small bar, the same chocolate was available in a slab, retailing for an even more staggering R249.

SA debates the chocolate's worth

The clip gained many comments from social media users who were equally shocked by the price of the chocolate. Many voiced their disbelief, noting that the brand was not even selling the original Dubai chocolate but a similar version.
