A Durban-based mother, Megenta Ziduli, shared the heartwarming process of making her daughter's matric dance dress from scratch. The outcome of the garment left many social media users in awe and noting how talented the mother was.

While matric dances are memorable moments for the learners, they can also be shared with family members watching as the once young child turns into an adult ready to leave their secondary education behind.

On 18 August, 2025, Megenta uploaded a video on her TikTok account showing the making of the dress from start to finish. First, she showed how her mother made the base of the dress, which was a warm orange hue. Megenta then showed herself placing fabric, which was see-through with tiny white beads, onto the base.
