JOHANNESBURG — The beef between Patriotic Alliance (PA) president Gayton McKenzie and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) president Julius Malema continues as McKenzie hit back at Malema's threats to sue him.

McKenzie posted a tweet on 31 July on his @GaytonMcK X account. He responded to an article published on the same day in which Malema threatened to sue McKenzie for badmouthing him.

In response, McKenzie accused Malema of thinking he has the sole mandate to insult people.

What did Malema say?

Malema was responding to slurs McKenzie called him in a message to PA supporters on 28 July. McKenzie previously called Malema a gossip and a bank robber. Malema said that he did not view McKenzie as an ally and would not take McKenzie's slurs lying down. Malema denied robbing anything and said he won't hesitate to hit McKenzie with a lawsuit.

In October 2024, McKenzie said that he was not afraid of threats from the EFF about reporting him for allegedly misusing state funds on his trip to the Olympics in the same year. McKenzie responded and said that the EFF was using his name to remain relevant.

McKenzie and Sihle Lonzi roast each other
