ROODEPOORT, GAUTENG — Tiffany Meek, who was accused of killing her 11-year-old son Jayden-Lee Meek, was denied bail on Tuesday, 29 July 2025, at the Roodepoort Magistrates' Court.
Meek appeared in court on the final day of her bail application. Magistrate Anneline Africa stated that the applicant demonstrated an ability to obstruct justice by misleading investigators to believe Jayden-Lee's body was found elsewhere, implying others were involved.

"These incidents are consistent with the proved facts, and they exclude every other reasonable inference. If the applicant has the ability to deceive without hesitation, the applicant has the ability to influence witnesses, especially her family," Africa said.

Africa added that Meek could undermine the objectives of the proper functioning of the criminal justice system. The judge said Tiffany's release will have the likelihood of undermining public peace in light of online petitions against her. She added that this could incentivise Meek to evade trial. The case has been postponed to 17 September 2025.
