ELDORADO PARK, JOHANNESBURG — An Eldorado Park, Johannesburg councillor said the death of the four-year-old girl who was raped, abused and killed over a week ago said that her death left the community with more questions than answers.

According to SABC News, Councillor Juwairiya Kaldine spoke at the little girl's funeral service on 19 August 2025 at the Don Mateman Hall in Eldorado Park in Johannesburg. Kaldine said that the community's hearts were heavy. She added that the community has questions that they will never understand. Kaldine added that the community stands in support of the family.

What happened in Eldorado Park?

An Eldorado Park man was arrested and charged with his daughter's murder on 6 August. The South Sgrovsm Police Service found the man and the girl in a shack at the back of the property. The little girl was found with bruises all over her body, and the father failed to explain why she was in that condition. She was rushed to the hospital, and he was arrested. However, she died from her injuries.

The man and the child's mother appeared before the Protea Magistrates Court on 12 August. The father initially faced a murder charge. However, new charges were added to the charge sheet: he was also charged with rape, compelled rape, child abuse, and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm. The mother was also initially charged with not reporting a sexual offence, but she is currently facing a charge of murder.

Eldorado Park parents abandon bail bid
