The Bafana Bafana of South Africa have failed to climb up in the latest FIFA World Rankings published this week as they remained in the same position they were last time the list was released.
Hugo Broos' side are currently unbeaten in their last 20 matches under the Belgian manager. In their last international friendly match against Tanzania and Mozambique, they kept their record intact by playing out a goalless draw against the former, and a 2-0 win over the latter.
After their back-to-back 2-0 wins in their last World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and the Benin Republic, they moved up in the FIFA rankings and retained their position in Africa.

FIFA Rankings: Why Bafana Bafana's position remains unchanged
Bafana Bafana were poised to move up in the latest ranking, but their performance at the recently concluded COSAFA Cup affected their chances of doing so.
The tournament is rated as an official match by FIFA, and it always affects rankings whenever it takes place.
Bafana Bafana reached the final of the competition but had a poor outing by winning just two out of their five games and losing against the holders, Angola, in the final.
The performance at COSAFA hurt Broos' team from improving their place on the ranking list, and is expected to get a better place in the next rankings if they keep up their unbeaten run under the Belgian tactician.
Why South Africa lost to Angola
Briefly News also reported that Vela Khumalo was told why Bafana Bafana B lost against Angola despite being the better side in the final of the COSAFA Cup final.
South Africa dominated the possession in both halves but were unable to convert their chances when they are in front of goal.
