Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signing of Bafana Bafana star Fawaaz Basadien from Premier Soccer League rivals Stellenbosch FC amid interest from Kaizer Chiefs.
The 28-year-old has been a target for the top three PSL sides since he emerged as one of the best left-backs in the Betway Premiership.
The Brazilians made a good amount of money after participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where they finished third in their group behind Fluminense and Borussia Dortmund.

Sundowns sign Basadien ahead of next season
Mamelodi Sundowns released an official statement on their X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to confirm the signing of Basadien from the Stellies.

"It's time to get ready for a new season! Introducing our newest signing - the versatile & talented Fawaaz Basadien," the club stated on social media.
"Welcome to the Yellow Nation, Fawaaz."
Last season with the Maroons, Basadien enjoyed a beautiful campaign, scoring seven goals and earning eight assists in 46 appearances across all competitions. He is also a regular for Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana and was part of the squad that played in the recent friendly games against Mozambique and Tanzania.
