Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona is set to play in Zimbabwe for the first time in his career.

Musona, who was a free agent after his stint in Saudi Arabia with Al-Okhdood, joined Scotland FC, one of the new teams in Zimbabwe's Premier Soccer League. He was unveiled on Monday in front of the club’s fans during a match against Yadah FC.

The Zimbabwean international, who recently came out of international retirement, had spent the last 17 years playing in South Africa, Germany, and Belgium.

What did Musona say about his latest move?

He will now line up alongside his younger brother, Walter Musona. Speaking with enthusiasm about the prospect of playing together, he said:

“It feels great. I’ve always wanted to play with him, and for the first time, we did in the national team. It was a good feeling because I have always wanted him to be a great player, to play better than I did, to achieve good things in his career.

“So I now get to have an opportunity to also push him and help him to do good things and grow his career. I’m looking forward, and I hope that it’s going to be a good experience for him.

Unconfirmed reports, according to Soccer Laduma sources, suggest that Musona hoped to return to the South African football scene. Unfortunately, he did not receive any offers from top-flight clubs.

A source close to the situation revealed:

“He had been offered to some top-flight clubs in South Africa, but the response was lukewarm. There were questions about whether he could still match the tempo of the PSL, given the demands of the league. At this point in his career, those considerations naturally come into play.”
