The football world has been thrown into mourning after the tragic death of Ethan Ade-Oduwale at the age of 10 on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

Details on the cause of Ade-Oduwale's death are yet to be confirmed, with his club, Charlton Athletic, releasing an official statement on their website.

Charlton pay tribute to Ade-Oduwale after his death

Charlton went on their official website to confirm the death of Ade-Oduwale and post a heartfelt tribute to his family, as they narrated how good the 10-year-old was during his time with their academy.

"Charlton Athletic are devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Ethan Ade-Oduwale, a cherished member of our academy’s U10s team," the English club's statement reads.
"Ethan’s smile, energy and enthusiasm for football will always be remembered by his teammates and the staff within the academy. From the moment he stepped onto a football pitch at Sparrows Lane, his desire to succeed spread across every session and his love of football will forever be remembered."

The news about Ethan Ade-Oduwale's death came a few days after the death of rugby legend Des van Jaarsveldt, and legendary WWE wrestler, Hulk Hogan.

The heartbreaking news gathered a lot of tributes from football fans across the globe on social media as they paid their last respects to the young footballer.
