Additionally, MTN will donate R20,000 to a selected charity for every goal scored during the competition, further incentivising attacking football and community impact.
The MTN8, contested by the top eight teams from the previous season, remains one of the most lucrative and highly anticipated cup tournaments on the local football calendar.
With fierce rivalries, packed stadiums, and high stakes on offer, fans can expect another electrifying instalment of South Africa’s elite knockout competition.
MTN has bankrolled the tournament, which features the top eight teams from the previous season, since 2008.
Kaizer Chiefs were the maiden winners but will miss out this year, as they finished outside the top eight. Their Soweto rivals, Orlando Pirates, have won it for three successive seasons and will be looking to claim it for yet another year.
