The two top sides will battle it out in the first round of the tie at Eden Park on Saturday, September 6, 2025, while the second round of the clash will take place at the Wellington Regional Stadium a week later.
The Springboks endured a poor start in the competition as they lost to Australia 38-22 at Ellis Park, before getting revenge in the second round of the tie at DHL Stadium, Cape Town.
Why Springboks are motivated to beat All Blacks – Erasmus explains
Erasmus, in an interview, confirmed why the Springboks are motivated more than ever to get a win against the All Blacks when they meet next month.
The reigning Rugby World Cup champions won their last four matches against New Zealand and are hoping to make it five wins in a row in their next game.
“We know exactly how big these two upcoming games are; every clash with the All Blacks is massive, especially given the fierce rivalry between us,” Erasmus said after unveiling the Springboks squad.

“We’ve won our last four encounters against them, going back to 2023. That’s only the second time in history we’ve managed four consecutive wins over New Zealand, and there’s no doubt that will drive both teams even more."
The South African coach also spoke on the importance of building on the progress his team made this year and explained why they had to travel early to New Zealand.
“It’s important that we keep building on the progress we’ve made this year and raise our level again ahead of those matches in two weeks," he added.
“We’re flying to New Zealand tomorrow (Tuesday), which gives us plenty of time to adjust to the time difference. That should help ensure we’re fully settled and ready when it’s time to step onto the field.”
